UK downloading prohibited

Monday, May 10th, 2010

The government forced through the controversial digital economy bill with the aid of the Conservative party, attaining a crucial third reading – which means it will get royal assent and become law – after just two hours of debate in the Commons.

Earlier the government removed its proposed clause 18, which could have given it sweeping powers to block sites, but replaced it with an amendment to clause 8 of the bill. The new clause allows the secretary of state for business to order the blocking of “a location on the internet which the court is satisfied has been, is being or is likely to be used for or in connection with an activity that infringes copyright”.

A new law in the UK now means that ISP’s in Britain will be forced to feed information to the government about users actions online. ISP’s will be forced to disconnet users who infringe upon copyright for fears of being fined up to £250,000 if they do not and ISP’s will also be forced upon the secretary of states say so to completely block sites like this and many others from UK access.

Google Wave

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

Google launched new project called “Google wave” allow users to realtime communicate which promises to logorevolutionise the way people communicatate, It combines aspects of email, instant messaging, wikis, web chat, social networking, and project management to build one elegant, in-browser communication client. You can bring a group of friends or business partners together to discuss how your day has been or share files.

With the kind of functionality google wave promises, it would be easier and more effective for example, for five people in five different countries to work together on a project than five people in the same room. Some of the innovative features that make google wave so unique are: realtime typing (you can see what someone else is typing immediately, character by character); Wiki functionality(anything written in google wave can be edited by someone else); Drag and drop file sharing; Rewind(an elaborate version of undo most computer applications); spelling auto-correction; easy interfacing with blogs, webpages and social networks.

Water on moon

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

Turns out there’s lots of water on the moon — at least near the lunar south pole, scientists said Friday.

And are they ever happy.

“We are ecstatic,” Anthony Colaprete, project scientist and principal investigator for the $79-million Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite mission that crashed into a crater near the moon’s south pole last month — specifically to look for water.

“Indeed, yes, we found water. And we didn’t find just a little bit; we found a significant amount,” Colaprete said.

Colaprete estimated the impact from the crash kicked up at least 25 gallons of water.

Significant water would make it easier to set up a base camp for astronauts.

Previous spacecraft have detected the presence of hydrogen in lunar craters near the poles. In September, scientists reported finding tiny amounts of water mixed into the lunar soil all over the lunar surface.

Windows 7

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

I just installed Windows 7 (upgrading from Vista) and i really like it so far!

windows7boot_screenIt’s way faster than Windows Vista, more stable and easier to use, And i highly recommend it to, I’m using it now with my 4 years old lappy and everything runs smoothly, all the drivers installed with the windows except the Video card (intel 910/915) which for some reason intel don’t want to release a newer driver for it! you’ll have to install your XP driver! yeah it works!

Pros and Cons :

Pros :

  • faster than vista
  • looks better
  • using less resources so it can installed on older computers
  • easier to use
  • and many more

Cons :

  • compatibility issues with some of the old softwares
  • some of the good old features are removed like the on-desktop-toolbars
  • Drivers (not an issue for the newer devices), you’ll need to search the net for a newer drivers

How to Change a Nokia Phone Lanuage

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

nokia-e71-

I did this with Nokia E71-1 With a Product code of “BENELUX NL” (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg : Dutch), and I’m pretty sure this will work with all other S60v3 and S60v5 Nokias.

It’s quite simple and all you’ll need is the phone’s USB cable and a little application called NSS (Nemesis Service Suite) i’m not sure if it’s legal to post a download link here so ask Mr. Google for that,  Nokia Software Updater (you can get that from Nokia.com And a new Product code for the new Language (google that, eg : “N95 product code”).

Note : you’ll lose your warranty by changing your product code so don’t do that unless you really need to or your warranty period already ended in this case you don’t have anything to lose!

Now Connect your phone and wait for Windows to detecting it.

Open Nemesis Service Suite and click “Scan for new device” on the right-upper part of the window >> Click on the icon “Phone info” >> Click on “Scan” >> Change the product code to and mark the case “Enable” >> Press “Write”, and your phone’s product code will be changed.

Now Close Nemesis Service Suite and run the Nokia Software Update and update your phone, viola your phone will restart with the new language.

You can use the same method to De-brand your phone.
